Curious Indeed

So today I decided to set up this blog and show off baby's first set of glamour shots. Thanks to Marissa my great friend/co-worker, who bought Owen a stuffed Curious George doll and gave me the idea.

I have worried so much the past few months.  Two months ago our Dr. saw a spot on the baby's heart when taking a routine ultra sound. At the time, he didn't feel it was anything to stress over, but wanted to see us back last week for another screening. At last weeks appointment the spot was still there so Dr. Apgar wanted us to have it looked at closer. Today James and I went to the Fetal Medical Center for an advanced ultra sound. They have such an advanced ultra sound machine and you can watch it on a giant plasma screen mounted on the wall. It's pretty cool.

While I was happy to see the baby on screen I could hardly breath. After an hour of image taking and smearing me with slime, the technician said she saw nothing to worry about. Then she showed us his face in 4D. We could see him moving, kicking, stretching and sticking out his tongue. Takes after his dad on the tongue thing!

We are very happy to report that the spot on his heart is just a weird image reading or reflection. They see these spots all the time and can't explain it, but were not alarmed. The Dr. came in to confirm that there is nothing to worry about and that he is very healthy and active. Weighing 2lbs, just a few ounces above average! She wanted to get more pics of his profile for us in 4D, but he was busy pulling his legs up to his head and grabbing his toes. Quite flexible! We all laughed as we watched him. Then the Dr. looks at us and says, "Boy he sure is curious, little Curious George." James and I laughed and said, yup he is Curious George alright. We told her that we had picked out the name George and she couldn't believe it. She said, Well it's definitely meant to be."

When I got home, I knew  I wanted to get this off my chest so I started on the blog.  I never in my life knew how much worrying is involved when becoming a mother, but wouldn't trade it for the world!

We hope you will visit our blog as we do our best to track this wonderful journey.
Love Amanda & James
