When Owen was only a few weeks old, and his legs were still folded up from being breech, we would change his diapers and he would kick his legs to the point that we could hardly get his diaper on. We started calling him Mr. Kicky Pants and even though we are doing much better these days with diapering the nick name has stuck. Yesterday, I was in the kitchen putting dishes away and Owen was playing in his play pen. He normally kicks and giggles and lately has even started to yell. He was getting pretty worked up with some high pitch screams so I came in the room to check on him. When I looked down in the play pen, there he was kicking and giggling and having fun, but he was kicking so fast that he was kicking right out of his pants. He makes me laugh!

He's a talker
He's becoming a big talker! Now that he sleeps well at night his afternoons are spent kicking and cooing and the afternoon naps are becoming much shorter and his awake/play times are longer. It's great to see his personality begin to shine.

First Dinner Out
We all had our first dinner out as a family on Friday night. We took Owen to his very first Indian restaurant, where he enjoined a tall glass of milk. James and I ate our dinners one handed while feeding him. The waitress asked could she get us anything else and we both said, "a baby sitter." Looks like it's time for us to have date night!
All dressed and ready to go

Love the milk mustache

He finds his hands
For the past few weeks Owen has really been trying to get his fingers, mainly is right thumb, lined up with his mouth. On Sunday he was making pretty good contact with his face, but missing his mouth and making some scratches on his skin. He hasn't given up and has been on a mission to get his thumb in there. On Monday he finally made contact and began sucking his thumb. It's been great because he's sleeping really well at night now. He's going 5-7 hours straight. When he wakes up he's learned to self sooth on his hand and fingers. I'm not too worried about him sucking his thumb. I know it wont last forever.

I'm No Monster!
Check out Owen's out fit! He smiled when I asked him if he was my little monster. Truth be told, he has been so good lately. He is really doing well with sleeping at night. He goes to bed around 9pm now and sleeps for 5 or 6 hours. We are down to only 2 small bottles during the night/ early mornings and next week we may take it down to 1. He is such a joy and I am so proud of him!

Happy Easter - Christos Anesti
This year regular Easter and Greek Easter fell on the same weekend. It only happens every five years or so. Christos Anesti or in English, Christ has risen. This is what you say at Easter if you are Greek, just as you would say Happy Easter. I have gotten really good at saying Christos Anesti!
On Saturday night James, Owen and I went to the midnight service at the Greek Church. We were a little nervous to take him out so late. Just a little worried that he may get fussy, but as always he was a good baby. He slept through the whole service and at 1 am he woke up for his bottle, but we were already on the way home. So while we waited for the traffic to die down, we feed him in the car. The service was so beautiful and had he been awake, he would have loved all the candles and lights.
Today we went with the family down to Glen Echo Park and walked around and then out for a late lunch. It was such a pretty day and it was nice to be out of the house and enjoying the great weather. DC is so pretty this time of year and after being buried under all that snow for so long, you truly appreciate how kind Mother Nature can be on days like today. After we got home and we're sitting on the couch, we saw the Easter Bunny hop by. We really did! I had my sign out front, "Eater Bunny Stop Here", but he said he'd hop back next year when Owen was big enough to eat chocolate eggs.
