Instagram and Photo Grids

Since I've been sitting around the past two weeks...waiting...I've been playing with the Instagram app an Photo Grid app. Pretty cool and fun. It helps if you start out with a decent image to manipulate...which I don't always have on my phone, but I've enjoyed adding filters and borders none the less.  Here are a few things I've put together for fun. Never been a fan of scrap booking, but I think this comes pretty close.

38 Weeks Nursery Completion

Ok, we are on the official count down now. Two weeks until our due date! I'm very ready to meet our new son. I didn't know that I'd get to a point where I could say this...I've felt like this pregnancy flew by and as the days came and went I felt less and less ready/prepared. Well, I've finally decided that at this point, there's only so much I can do/accomplish before his arrival, and I most likely will never feel completely ready.... So let's do this!

Come on Baby Boy! Your new room is all ready and waiting for you! Your Big Brother is very excited to meet you and you have lots of hugs and sweet kisses with your name on them. Until we meet little man....

Xoxoxox,
Mommy

30 Weeks!

Spring is here! It came early for us this year, for so many looks like. I am super excited too, but feeling a little off, like it should be April and not March. The neighborhood is covered in a canopy of Cherry Blossom Trees and huge Bradford Pears. It is just amazing! I wish my family could be here to see it. It only last a few short weeks and today the blossom are already falling. Owen looked outside this morning and said,"Mama it's snowing."

We are on a mad dash to get this house properly organized and tidy! Now that its warm out we are doing some much needed yard work. And have our first McPherson Yard Sale planned for the 31st. The house is slowly but, surely, coming together and feeling like home, and less like The Brady Bunch residence. It's bright and sunny with all the glass and the birds sing so loudly here. I think we truly found a little piece of heave, that just needs some major elbow grease and TLC.

The baby's room is mostly finished thanks to my Big Brother, Shane. He came up last month to give James a hand on the stairs and nursery. I'm so grateful too! It would have been too much for James alone with his 14hr work days, 5 days a week. That man works so hard and he comes home and continues to help me out...I love him so much. Even if occasionally I get jealous as he sits and watches a movie down in the basement. I guess I could learn a thing or two from him about R&R.

But with only 9.5 weeks to go....I can not think about rest right now. There is a long list of things to organize before I'm a sitting duck again. I'm getting nervous about how I'm going to schedule things out and mostly maintain Owen's schedule, which at this stage is crucial we stay on, or else we see a side of him that is too horrible to bare. It's a full time job just making sure he's on that schedule, to the T, and still getting things done around the house. Let's just say, I'm embarrassed that my bathroom has yet to be cleaned in two weeks. But hey, who's looking at it? Just me!

This is only temporary I know, and if we can work through these next few years...we can do anything!

I just had a ultrasound to check on Baby Boy. My belly is measuring about a 1-2 weeks behind. I passed my glucose test, but the Dr. recommend I do more grazing on high fat/protein foods. So I've eaten steak it least 4 times in the past two weeks!  The baby is looking small measuring in the 28%. My OB isn't concerned but, wants to keep a close eye over the next few weeks to make sure he's fattening up nicely.  So far he is not Breach! I am so thrilled on this alone and to know I may not need a C-section after all. Although, I know there is still a very good chance that I could end up with one. If you are reading this...please cross your fingers for me :) I keep having long talks with Baby about growing and getting fat and staying head down. I've still yet to take one pregnancy picture. I really hope to get it done this weekend.... We will see. Lots of work planed already. It would be so sad not to have it least one.

Owen is getting very excited to meet his brother. He keeps yelling at my belly, "Baby Brother, come out now!" I keep telling him Mommy needs more time so he can grow. And when ever Owen talks to his brother, he kicks pretty hard. It's a pretty cool relationship that these two already have. I just pray that once his Brother arrives, he's still just as excited as he is now. He's taken a great interest in Baby's lately, so I'm hopeful. I am so happy he will get to experience the bond who will be pretty close in age!

Bump Update

Baby Boy To Be:

Doing well and growing strong. We are right on track for May 26th, Granny's birthday.  I'm very excited to be having a May baby! And Owen is really starting to like the idea of being a big brother. We had a long conversation last night about all the things he could teach his baby brother one day. He says, "Baby Brother will cry and go poopie in a diaper. I will help Mommy change him. Baby Brother drinks milk in a bottle like, Whyla." He said he will teach him to play and ride a bike.... This stuff really melts my heart.

Owen's been around so many infants, his friends siblings, and lately I think he's getting the hang of how to be gentle with them. He gave Lyla a sweet, gentle, kiss and hug last week. So that is huge! Baby Brother will be called Colin or Owen says, Colwin. We finally have agreed on his name! Really Owen made the decision for us....We asked him if he likes Colin or Harris and he said, "Baby Bother Colwin!" So that made it very easy for us to pick and move forward.

We haven't done a thing to prepare for this little bundle of joy. We are so behind the 8 ball on everything. But it's going to be just fine because we have so much stuff already and we kinda know what to expect. Gulp! I am much more nervous this time around! I'm sad to say there are days when I forget I'm pregnant, but I do get to enjoy his swift kicks from 8-11pm each night.  (I guess this just means I'm feeling much better then I did in the first trimester.) This is his most active time and boy, is this little baby active. Gulp -again! He has some strong legs already. And will defiantly take after his Daddy! His ultrasound images look so much like Owen that it's very surreal when I see him on screen. Guess it's also safe to assume he will look just like Daddy. I don't think I'd make for a handsome man, so just as well.

I'm going to post a picture soon since I think I finally look somewhat pregnant. I'll ware the same shirt I took my first pregnancy photos with Owen, around 16 weeks. We are currently 25 weeks in and only 2.5 weeks until we are in the 3rd and final trimester. This is passing oh so fast! I can not believe it! I really need time to slow down a little, as I feel very ill prepared for my next boy to arrive. Owen keeps me so busy and when I have any free time blog or plan for baby, all I want to do is sleep. Which I don't get to do often, but that's what I dream about all day. Well, speaking of sleep. It's almost 8:00 pm and I can not wait to turn out the lights and crash. Good night my friends.

To My Little Baby to Be:
I am so sorry I have not made a better effort to keep track of you on this journey, but please know I will love you just the same.  You are always on my mind! And Daddy and I are looking forward to meeting you very soon.

Love,
Mommy

Growth at 2

Stats from 2 year visit:

Height: 34 3/4 inches (he should be around 5 10 as an adult) 50%

Weight: 27 3/4lbs 50%

Head: 19 1/2 inches 50%

His height was slowed down this past year from being in the upper 90% to now in the 50%.  His weight and head have caught up some. So he's exactly an average little boy. And oh so perfect in our eyes!

Owen is 2!!!

Owen just celebrated his 2nd birthday!  Happy Birthday to you, Owen!   I feel like he's been two for months now because we've been talking about it since November. He has changed and grown up so much since the last post. He's put on a little weight, gotten a little taller, his foot has grown another 1/2 size and he's talking to us in sentences. I can not believe how much he knows. As if he's been filing away words for the past two years and all of a sudden he is capable of saying them.  Who know!? He will repeat ANYTHING right now. So it's so crucial we watch what we say around him. We do a ton of cheers, positive encouragement, and roll playing each night when Daddy is home to help. It's kinda like acting for dummies. Lol. But it seems to really be helping him along. He's doing well at preschool and today I was able to leave him for the first time. He said, Mommy comes back.  And when I returned he gave me the biggest smile ever!  I think it lit up the whole room. It made my whole day! There is nothing better than when he runs into my arms, hugging and kissing and he's so happy to see me. I pray that never fades, but I know one day he will be to big and mature for this kinda PDA. So I'm just gonna soak it all up while I can. I now know how his Daddy feels each evening when he comes in from a long day at work. Owen gets so excited to see him! He runs to the door screaming, DADDY,  DADDY, DADDY HOME!

These are the little things that we should never take for granted.  He loves us so much and is all of a sudden so capable of expressing and reciprocating/ showing his love for us.  We have started doing the "love sandwich." James and I hug and kiss him tight saying, you're in the love sandwich. We tell Owen he's the meat and baby brother is the cheese. We of course, are the bread. It's so silly and cheesy, but he loves it. Now he request the love sandwich. I highly recommend this if you have little ones! It makes me think of, Meet the Fockers...and the circle of trust. Lol!

Two is a wave of emotion for Owen. High-Highs and Low-Lows!  But despite the drastic changes I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Sure, I look sleep deprived and tired...some days I look at myself in the mirror and think, who are you. Lol. But that might also be due to the growing midsection and hips. I think my belly is just now at 23 weeks starting to emerge...a little. It's still not really noticeable that I'm pregnant. Just looks like I've put on some weight or eaten too many beans. But I kept bumping into the handle on the shopping cart and I can't snap my coat, so I know I've grown out some.

Tomorrow we have Owen's 2 year check up and I'll post his stats later. Looks like based on our measurements at home, he's going to be around 5 feet 10 inches, just like his Daddy.

The past two years have flown by! It's been a great ride and I really enjoy reflecting on how much he's grown, changed and developed.  I'm so proud to call him my son.
