Update

I had to take Owen to the Dr. yesterday.  He had a little stomach bug, but not running a temp so the Dr said we just wait it out.  We have gone through a lot of diapers since the weekend and I even had to dig a few out of the diaper Gennie to take to the Dr.  That was not fun!  He is weighing in at 14 pounds and 2 oz so he's gained 4 pounds over the past two months.  We really thought he weighed 16 pounds.  I guess he just feels heavier then he really is. He goes back to the Dr tomorrow morning for his 4 month check up and more shots.  I have to go alone since James will be at work.  Pray for me!  Owen will do great.  I just hope I don't pass out when they stick him.

We picked up a jumperoo over the weekend because he likes to stand and bounce.  My arms were getting pretty tired and it seemed like he could go all day.  He's lovin his new toy and I hope to snap a little clip of him jumping soon.  We are headed to the lake with Skye and Shannon on Friday for the weekend.  This will be his first overnight trip!  We will try our best to keep him on his same sleep schedule.  Should be a nice time and we are really looking forward to a little get away.

I was looking at older pictures of him this morning.  He has grown so much!   Here see for yourself!

I keep forgetting to take pictures of  Owen  with his teddy to show his growth.  I took these last week.  He was being so silly!

Rolling Over

The past few days Owen has started to roll over.  He's still getting the hang of it and it's more like a 3 point turn right now, but he's doing it. It's fun to watch him and he seems quite proud of himself.   I've been putting a blanket down on the floor this week so he can roll around and play with his toys.  I have to keep the dogs crated when we do this because Leo is just too big and too interested in Owen. Last night we let the dogs over to where Owen was playing so they could get a closer look.  Emma was very calm and protective and insisted on laying on the edge on the blanket next to him.  Leo just wanted to get close enough to kiss him.  Poor dog!  He just doesn't realize how large he is compared to Owen.  So we made him stay on his dog bed and he kept creeping closer and closer, until his paw was on Owen's blanket.  That dog!  Our living room is beginning to look like a day care center.  We have baby stuff every where and I think this is just the beginning!

Sleeping Through The Night!

Ok, I am almost afraid to post this.  Owen has slept through the night for 3 nights in a row and I don't want to jinx it.  He is sleeping 9-11 hours at one time!  I can't believe it! I am averaging 8-10 hours myself now.  I guess I'm making up for 9 months of pregnancy and then the 3 months there after.  It is the best feeling in the world!  SLEEP is GOOD!  We have discovered that he has learned to roll over from his right side to his back and then to the left side.  He even turned himself over on to his tummy this morning and slept in that position for a bit.  I guess rolling over gives him more sleep position-options and allows him to stay in bed longer.  I don't know....I'm just speculating on this, but either way I am a happy Momma.

First Mothers Day

What a wonderful first Mothers Day!  It started out with Owen giving me the best gift of all.  The gift of sleeping through the night.  He slept Saturday night for 9 hours and 45 min.  I actually went in and woke him for a bottle.  Then he gave me the second best gift, more sleep.  We cuddled in bed until 9:45 am.  James let us sleep in and it was fantastic. When I went into the dining room, flowers, dark chocolates and perfume waited for me.  I asked Owen if he left this for Mommy and this was his reaction.
I think we was still waking up from his 13 hours in bed.

My favorite combination, Flowers and Dark Chocolate

Love it!

This weekend I picked up a Bumbo seat.  He liked it, but like anything that you put him in these days, he soon is trying to figure out how to escape.  We had to move his little Lamby Swing down to the basement because  he refused to sit in it.  Every time I sat him down he would arch his back and scream.  He just hated it!  I went to Target to pick up the Bumbo and on the box it showed a baby boy sitting in a green seat.  There was another one that pictured a girl in a pink seat.  So I chose the obvious box, the boy in the green seat, right?  LOL, well when I got home and took it out of the box, it was purple.  I said, what the heck!  I looked at the box again and still I see the label that reads actual color.  I look at the green seat....Am I losing my mind?  Then it dawns on me, the purple sticker is referring to the actual color of the seat.  Hahaha, I had a moment.  I had a good laugh.  I said well, Owen your Daddy will just have to deal with it, I'm not going back to the store.

Big Boy

Here are a few pictures I took of Owen today just before we went out for a walk.  He is looking like such a big boy.

3 Months Old

Hello!  We've been a little out of touch, but only because I am finding it more difficult to find the time to update in the afternoons.  Owen is three months old now and really coming to life.  His personalily is really beginning to shine through.  We are getting lots of smiles, giggle, chattering and even his version of a kiss.  It's just the sweetest thing ever.  We kiss on his little chubby cheeks so often and now he has learned to open is mouth and slobber on our cheeks.  When he sees you coming in close for a kiss he opens his mouth wide and smiles. He's doing much better with holding his head up and has become quite insistent on standing while you hold him.  He's pulling himself forward when you hold on to him. With assistance he can even sit up and prefers to be upright.  He's no little baby any more!  We're looking forward to his Dr appointment at the end of the month to see how much he weighs now.

What Owen's up to:
  • Sleeps 5-7 hours straight at night
  • Takes up to 5 1/2 oz of milk
  • Wares 3-6 months (and some 6 month onesies)
  • Giggles
  • Smiles
  • Baby talk
  • Stands while you are holding him
  • Gives wet kisses
  • Sucks his thumb (and fingers)
  • Hold his head up during tummy time
  • Wants to roller over (haven't got there just yet-but he's really trying)
  • Holds objects in hands (and puts everything in his mouth)
  • Recognizes his Mommy and Daddy
  • Sees Emma and Leo (but still not interested in them just yet)
  • Still loves his bath (likes to turn side ways in his little tub and splash all the water out)
  • Likes to watch TV (So I got him a Baby Einstein DVD)
Watching his development each month is a real treat and brings us so much joy.  We know this time next year he'll be walking and playing in everything.  Oh how they grow so fast!

He's a happy Big Boy!
