We kicked off the long weekend by going to the pool on Friday. My friend Elaine invited us over to her neighborhood pool. I met Elaine back in November at our birthing class. She and I kept in touch over the holidays. Her daughter Abigale was born January 13th. She is about 3 weeks older than Owen. They were both 6 lbs 8 oz and 19.5 inches at birth. When Owen was six weeks old we took him for his first play date to meet Abigale. We have been meeting up every few weeks since then. It is great to have made a friend with a little one the same age. They are going through similar stages at the same time, but this time when we saw Abigale she had a surprise for us. She just cut two teeth at once! What a big girl she is becoming! The two babies are really starting to interact more now. Our first few outings they slept the whole time. Now if one cries or screams it set the other one off. It is pretty funny, sweet and sad all at the same time. I am happy to report I did a good job of keeping Owen covered and cool. We were in the sun from 1-5pm and he didn't get a burn.
