First Birthday!!!

We stared the day out by getting the house ready with decorations.  I was so busy I didn't have time to put pants on Owen. Lol!  So he was running around in a diaper and his t-shirt all morning.  I set the cupcakes up.  And I was so proud of myself! I've never made cupcakes before (not this many or fancy) and I thought they turned out pretty good.  Just before Owen's afternoon nap the Postman dropped off two packages for him.  One from Aunt Laura and Uncle Fred and the other from Granny.  And Owen helped open the packages!  After all, they were addressed to him!  It was his day!  He loved his new fire truck made from recycled plastics and the pillow pet and wodden puzzels from Granny and Cousin Bryce.  Shortly after he ate his lunch and took a  quick nap.  We were getting ready for the guest to arrive at 3:00pm.  At 2:30 people were showing up and we quickly went into party mode.

Had Uncle Chris not grabbed my camera and took theses photos for me....I don't know what I would have done.  I am so bad to remember to take pictures when things are happening.
Owen had a blast!  He played with his best fiends and cousins and ate his birthday cupcake.  He looked like such a big boy walking around the house with the other kids.  It's amazing how they grow so fast.  We made his party a touch southern.   We had BBQ, potato salad, baked beans and homemade mac n cheese.  For dessert we had the cupcakes and lemon bars.  It was a very full house!

Thanks to everyone who made it and to those of you who were there in spirit.  We love you all and it's been such fun sharing this journey with you all.  Now it's time to start a new chapter. Toddler-hood here we come!

Owen,
You will always be my little boy and Mommy and Daddy are so very proud of you!  Thanks for always making us smile, laugh and cry.  And for giving us a wonderful year.  Happy First Birthday!  And may God keep you safe, always.

First Haircut

There are no words to describe how this made me feel.  His baby hair is ALL gone!  His daddy was all grins and so proud to take him to see his barber. The boys had a great day together.  First their haircuts followed by Five Guys and then MyGym.  Now we are getting ready to celebrate his 1st Birthday!  I can't believe it!
